Diagnostics of Diamond Film Deposition Plasmas

Under support from the U.S. Army Research Office, SRI conducted optical and mass spectrometric analyses of high-pressure, high-temperature arcjet plasmas used in depositing diamond thin films. This continuing work explores the complex surface chemistry and physics accompanying the fast growth rate of diamonds.
